How do I get my gps to work plugged in screen says usb connected follow instructions for updating map only works short term if I unplug it

I wanted to buy an update for my Magellan maestro 5310 but they wanted $25.00 to mail a disc to Canada. That is over and above the cost of the update. Can you imagine? If you are a Canadian do not buy Magellan

the battery in my Magellan Maestro will not recharge so I have to plug it into my cigarette lighter to use it. I want to use it when I am on my bike.

I have recently bought the Magellan Mestro 3225 , already i have problem with the unit , it seemed when i was driving in the car , i used cigarette to charge the unit while using it , it keep come up message usb is in use that , the gps wasn’t working at all unless i disconnect the cigarette plug so know i don’t what to do to fix this problem , if anyone know how to fix please email me and let me know .

I think the only way is through Magellan; check their site. It seems to me that I also read about ways to add points of interest on unofficial forums. I got a Palm Pre with GPS (Sprint Nav) earlier this month, so likely I’ll just rely on it for areas that get out of date on my Magellan.

Is there anyway to refresh the road maps that are in the GPS? It seems that there are alot of streets missing. I have the Megellan 3225.

Hi there I to have the same problem when put into my vehile..the USB page comes up. I spoke with there tech help in Asia and he had no idea of what to do…it will not charge in this mode either. I am wondering if it is the the vehicle charger so will buy another one but I do not have much faith in this.Other than send it back for repairs anybody got any ideas???
